When it comes to a horse or any animal for this matter please do not use chemical hair dyes on them. Please consider Harvest moon chemical free hair dye. They look just as good if not better and Henna and Indigo are safe for children, pregnant women, pets, and cancer patients. If a horse has a bad reaction to chemicals they cannot tell you and horse just like people have allergies to.

We do not recommend you dye the entire horse, you can of course, but in small amounts or thin coats. Doing the entire horse may just be to much at one time. to get rid of white spots or light spots it should work wonders.

Apply It Thick And Not In The Sun

Horses have protein in there hair like people do so always do a test area first. Coming from a house full of pets we can honestly say it works and the effects will last a very very long time. A pets hair grows much much slower and does not grow longer like human hair. So if you dye a cat with henna the effects will last months and will usually only fade away.

We have not tried it on cows, goats or any other farm animals, however we would assume it would work the same. You will need to place some sort of cone over the animals head to keep them from licking it. Once the henna/Indigo is rinses it will take 24 hours to set to the final color.

after 48 hours the stain will not transfer or rub off. It is permanent! If you have used chemicals on your horse or pet you will need to wait 1 month before using henna/indigo.

We do have customers using henna and indigo however we can not be responsible for any out comes. We have not done extensive testing on animals but we can be sure our animal hair dye has 0 chemicals and 0r PPD.

* Hint- Mix colors to create more colors. Indigo makes it darker, pure henna more red. Mix thick and follow “beard dye instructions for best results”. Not following beard dye instructions could result in the henna hair dye not working at all.

You can mix colors to get the color you prefer. Keep a log! One horse mane will require 100-400 grams depending on the length.

Hi! How much of an area are you trying to cover and what color? You need to test an area and see how it turns out, horsehair is like humans, they vary how absorbent they are. Shipping will depend on your address and how much you purchase, when you check out and put your address it will calculate the shipping cost.
